The youngest group of players in Dallas was also clearly the most talented, with Jared Sullinger helping them lead the way to beat the 2009 US team and come away as the victors of the adidas Nations Experience. We also take a look at Brandon Knight, Adreian Payne, LaQuinton Ross, Trey Zeigler and Evan Anderson.

While the teams from Europe, South America, Asia and Canada surely added to the level of competition and made this camp all the more intriguing, the focus of the week definitely seemed to be on the American high schoolers. With the rather pedestrian 2009 class not represented all that well, the much more naturally talented 2010 class (reinforced by two 2011 players) was able to knock them off in the final game, showcasing better team spirit and chemistry and looking to have far more future NBA talent at its disposal. For the 09 group, Derrick Favors was here, largely in spirit only, which allowed us to take a more in-depth look at Dexter Strickland than we’ve previously been able to. We also throw in our two cents on Peyton Siva, Christian Watford, G.J. Vilarino and Junior Cadougan.

A quick update from Dallas after two days in attendance. James Harden, Jrue Holiday, Darren Collison and Gani Lawal impress amongst the college counselors, Tomas Satoranski and Deniz Kilicli emerging from the European roster, and a superb group of teenagers from the 2010 US team--including Brandon Knight, Tony Wroten, Joshua Smith, Jared Sullinger and more.

In addition to evaluating a good portion of this year’s rising high school senior class, we also had an opportunity to sneak a peek at some of the top prospects in the 2010 and 2011 classes as well. This is obviously an extremely young and raw batch of players who’s development curve can and will still fluctuate greatly over the next few years, but getting an early look at them can be very beneficial down the road for when they need to be taken more seriously.

We’ve spent the last few weeks evaluating many of the top players in the high school classes of 2009-2011, for the purpose of acquainting ourselves with the next crop of NBA prospects that we’ll be discussing in coming years. We’ll be sharing our thoughts on what we saw, heard and learned from the U-18 Men’s Basketball Tryout in Washington DC, and the various AAU tournaments (Nike, Reebok, Adidas) in Las Vegas, as initial scouting reports in our player database.
We continue with the players we evaluated ranked between 11 through 150 in the 2009 high school class.
